Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I get my dog groomed?
In order to maintain a proper and manageable coat, it is recommended that you have your dog groomed every 2-4 weeks. This will keep your dog's fur or hair from getting painfully matted. Dogs that shed a lot will also be better maintained by a regular schedule and shedding will be diminished if groomed regularly. Every dog is a little different, and each owner’s lifestyle is different, so our groomers are trained to give you a recommendation on the proper groom frequency for your pet.
Why do you want us to groom on a recurring cycle?
Our job is to help you maintain your dogs coat properly. Once we groom your pet, we can give you guidance on how often your dog should be groomed. By going on a recurring cycle, you always have your spot reserved on our schedule. It is also because we are very route-based and it will reserve your spot on your groomers route.
Dogs that are groomed on a regular schedule view grooming as routine and part of their life, and not only accepts it but comes to enjoy it, whereas dogs who are seasonally groomed view it as punishment and can become fearful, unruly or aggressive for their grooming appointment. Regular grooming is essential to healthy skin and coat, and it prevents mats from forming.
Can I remain with my pet while they are groomed?
No. Pets are calmer and more well-behaved for grooming when the owner is not present. When the owner is present, the dog is so focused on the owner that it disrupts the grooming process. It simply is harder on the dog and the groomer. We need the dog's full attention. We are using very sharp equipment around your pet’s eyes and other sanitary areas. With the owner present, the dog will not remain still enough for us to groom them safely.
Do I need to be home while my dog is being groomed?
That's the beauty of mobile grooming - no! Once we've met and we're on the same page as to what you would like for a haircut, then you do not need to be present for appointments.
What time should I expect you to arrive?
We kindly ask you to please allow 30 minutes before and after your appointment time for your groomer to arrive. As a mobile groomer, we do our best to prepare the best routes based around traffic conditions--however, sometimes traffic delays can be unexpected and thus, unavoidable. A delay may also occur if the prior pet takes longer than expected. This is due to our dedication to give every pet the level of attention required for their groom.
Where do you groom my pet?
The groomer will come to you in our state-of-the-art mobile grooming truck. The self-contained unit carries 50 gallons of temperature controlled fresh water. It also features a hydraulic table as our workspace that is also temperature controlled. Learn more by visiting Our Truck page.
Where will you park your Mobile Grooming truck?
The truck requires 11' 3" clearance. It is 25 feet long, and requires a level parking space for proper grooming.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, check and credit cards. Credit and debit card payments will receive a 3% processing fee.
